In western Alberta, all you see is the Rockies. Kind of hard to miss and quite the view if you have not seen it before. Some would say breathtaking. This city got its routes from the railway connecting the west and the eastern parts of the country. Pretty much the last stop heading wets out of Alberta. With a population of around 11,000 it is a small city where a lot of people know one another. The biggest thing known to happen in Hinton is a giant train crash in Feb of 1986 where a CN rail car struck a Via Rail Passenger train where 23 people passed away.
